than you think.

THE METHOD

A direction.
Not a destiny.

Explore four ways to make useful work. Your answers suggest where to start; your constraints decide how small to keep the test.

01 / NOTICE

Choose what you’d do.

Tell us the tasks you prefer today, plus the time, skills and buyer access you have.

02 / NARROW

See the tradeoffs.

Compare your preference tally with practical readiness. Close matches stay visible.

03 / TRY

Leave with a plan.

Choose one 7–14-day experiment, decide what to observe and set a clear stop rule.

FOUR POSSIBLE DIRECTIONS

Useful work takes different forms.

Each comes with real work,
tradeoffs and responsibilities.

01 / SERVICE

One clear
deliverable.

Finish a fixed piece of work for a specific buyer. Your time remains part of every delivery.

02 / WORKFLOW KIT

A process
others can use.

Explain one repeatable task through a checklist, template and completed example.

03 / SMALL TOOL

A reliable
repeated rule.

Start with a manual prototype. Technical support and maintenance remain your responsibility.

04 / RESEARCH

A clearer
decision.

Organize a narrow, sourced comparison. Label what you verified and when.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you begin.

For adults exploring a first small business offer with limited weekly time. This free educational planner helps you choose a test; it does not validate an idea.

What does the result mean?

Eight questions add one preference point to a route. All routes within one point of the highest tally are shown as close matches. Practical questions then shape readiness and next steps. These author-created rules have not been validated. Scores do not measure personality or ability, predict earnings or establish market demand.

What if my preferred route doesn’t fit my constraints?

We keep that route visible and explain the mismatch. A practical alternative is labelled separately. You can choose any route; limited time, availability, proof or support commitments turn the next step into a private sample.

Will this tell me what business will succeed?

No. It helps you choose a bounded experiment, with actions and stop rules. A working sample, buyer conversation or compliment is not proof of demand. Only observed behavior can inform your next decision.

Can I use it without sharing my details?

Yes. No account, name or email is requested. Answers and notes stay in this page’s memory. There is no analytics, advertising tracker or server-side answer collection. Reloading or restarting clears them. You may download a text plan or print to PDF yourself.

How much should I spend?

Set your own comfortable cap before starting; a fictional sample can often use tools you already have. One Small Venture does not recommend purchases. Do not depend on an untested idea to pay essential expenses in the next 30 days.
